Simple and Fun 4th of July Nails!

neon 4th of july nail tutorial with stripes and dots

Happy 4th of July!

I wanted to share this quick and simple neon nail design I did tonight in preparation for my 4th of July festivities tomorrow! I only had 30 minutes, so I decided to keep it simple and only use dots and stripes. I pumped up the color with china glaze neon nail polishes. I really like the end result, and it was SUPER easy to do! The only tool I used was a dotting implement to create the dots on my blue accent nail.

These are the colors I used (from the left):

Milani Nail Lacquer Nail Art in White Canvas (#704)

China Glaze in Towel Boy Toy (#877)

China Glaze in Pool Party (#872)

This is the dotting tool I used to make the white dots on the blue accent nails. I’ll show you a close up below.

The trick with using a dotting tool is to make sure there is an ample amount of polish on the tip of the tool so that when you apply it to the nail it will create a perfect circle. I applied two coats of China Glaze in Towel Boy Toy before applying the dots to the nail. I used this color and technique on the ring finger of my left hand, and the pointer finger on my right hand.

The rest of my fingers got the neon pink China Glaze polish in Pool Party with white stripes. The white stripes were applied directly with the Milani Nail Lacquer Nail Art applicator that came in the bottle. The brush is super long and tapered, so it’s super easy to apply the white in stripes. It’s not perfect, but I wanted it to look kind of hand drawn anyway. The trick with using the striper is to make sure there ISN’T very much polish on the brush, otherwise the stripes will be super wide (unless that’s the look you want to go for, then by all means go for it!).

Here’s the final result again. SUPER quick and easy! I really love the neon colors, I think it’s super summery yet 4th of July appropriate!

Give this look a shot, and let me know how it went for you!
